"And I'm already missing the summer..."

"Oh the bitter winds are coming in

And I'm already missing the summer"

Hair dyeing party!

That's how my summer started; with a hair dyeing party.

June was the "Lightsaber Choreography Days."

We went to our friends' house multiple times a week from 10am-5pm working on fight choreography for our LCC entry.
The choreography days worked like this:  I would wake up, quickly eat breakfast, change clothes, and we would go to Safeway on the way to our friends' house and I would buy a to-go salad, a Cliff bar, and a Starbucks Frappuccino, then we got to business. :)

A goofy moment during the day.

I love this picture. Everyone else is being all serious and working hard and then there's me with someone's shirt on my  head

At the end of June, my grandparents came to visit for 10 days and they got to come to the July 4th party with our friends. I was glad that our grandparents were finally getting to meet our Washington friends after a year of hearing about them.
The Poling family singing for everyone.

We got to business and had a water fight with water balloons, hoses, buckets of water, water guns, etc!

Here's my dad throwing a water balloon at Matt, my brother.

Things calmed down a for a minute, but then we all went back to pouring water on each other.

Our community of friends.

While we all waited for the sun to go down, everyone visited.

Fireworks!

I think this picture is really cool!

When we went through all the fireworks, we opened all the glowsticks and sparklers.
During our grandparents' visit, we went to Mt. Rainier, XXX Root beer, and Snoqualmie Falls.

Mt. Rainier.

XXX Root beer drive-in.

Snoqualmie Falls.

We went to a few other places with our grandparents, which I can't remember really well because most of the time I was in bed with what we believe was pneumonia.

When our grandparents left and I was on the mend, we got back to work with choreography:

Choreography (10am-5pm), book meetings (7pm-11pm), script meetings with the Johnsons (7pm-11pm), happened weekly, and then we had location scouts, movie day with our friends, a dance night, we had friends over for a fun day, then we had a photo-shoot for our LCC project, and finally, the film days.

We would wake up at 6am to pack our lunches and get ready, be at the Polings' house at 7am, do makeup and hair, then leave for our film location at 8:30am. At 9:30 or 10 we would start filming until 5pm, and then go back to the Polings' house for almost an hour before we went home for dinner.

                                                                 Choreography photos:

Here, they are doing a quick test.
Last day of choreography. They were asking me when it was time for lunch. ;)

Photo-shoot for LCC (the first time the actors put on their full costume and did their hair and makeup:

Getting their costumes dirty by having a "dirt bath."

How they look in the movie.

Non LCC stuff:

We went to see Inside Out with the Johnsons, which was a lot of fun!

The Marshalls came over for a few hours before we had our photo-shoot at the Polings'. The girls were doing their hair and nails, and I played Xbox with Noah.

Book meeting. Where Kathryn reads her story to us and we critique it.

Shooting days:

Loading up all the film gear, about to leave.

9 AM. Walking to film location and setting the first scene of the day up:

Walking to our location.

Yep, that's me; the short, red head in the sweater... Pulling the mini wagon. :)

Base camp.

What an actress does when she's not in a scene. lol! :)

The picture below was the last shooting day. Well, we thought it was, but the next month we had to film pickup shots.

While this was happening ^^, mom and dad were at the airport picking Ashley and Matt up:

Ashley and Matt...and a random lady with a massive Starbucks coffee. lol!

Ashley, Matt, Mom, and Dad came on set to see us film for a little while, but left about an hour later.
Less than two hours later we finished filming and we headed back to the Polings' house where there was a lot of clapping and whooping and Noah gave his "inspirational speech."

Okay, there is a story to that. See, when the Marshalls came to our house before the photo-shoot, I jokingly said to Noah, "Lizzy wants you and me to write inspirational speeches because we're the director and assistant director." I thought he knew I was kidding. And as they were leaving our house I said, "Don't forget that inspirational speech!"
And Noah was like, "Oh yeah. When does Lizzy need that again?"
Me: "Tomorrow."
I thought he knew I was joking, but when they left I was like, "Hm...I don't think he knew I was joking."
Later that night I asked him if he knew I was kidding and he didn't know.
We all laughed a good bit about that, and for the next few days we joked about the "inspirational speeches" Noah and I were going to give.
On the last day of shooting it was brought up again and Noah stood up and gave a speech. :)

When we got back from the Polings' I was really happy and bursting to tell every last detail about the day (because I had, had a blast), but Ashley and Matt were finally at our house visiting, so we wanted to visit with them and hear about their flight and so on. :)

I don't know what's up with my hair. ;)

The next day, everyone went to Deep Lake to celebrate Morgan's birthday (which was in two days).

I look so confused with the world. XD

This was my schedule for the month.
Where it says "Polings'" that was code for, "Fight Choreography."
Oh, and our grandparents were not here on the 8th and 9th. They drove up to Port Angeles, but were back on the 10th. :)

August:
Ashley and Matt were here the first week of August  and we did a lot of stuff with them, which I covered in this blog post HERE.

Since I already did a blog post about August, I'll just post pictures in place of description. :)

We've been making mini movies with the Johnsons.

I would post more of the Johnson movie pictures, but I don't know if some people would approve of some of the pics. :) ;)

Another day of shooting our LCC entry. (Total numbers of days we filmed: 5)

I've had more Starbucks this summer than I have ever had in my life...and I'm okay with that. ;)

I don't know what store this is at, I just know it's in the Tacoma Mall.

Sarah has been very nice, letting me ride her horse, Scarlett. I missed riding.

We had a movie night with the Johnsons which involved a lot of popcorn and some cookies. We watched the first Pirates of the Caribbean. :)

We also had a movie night with the Marshalls and Swets which involved a lot of popcorn, and Micah giving me a cooking lesson on how to pop popcorn in a pot....which I burned.

My family went to Dash Point Park for a day and we found tons of sand dollars!

Trust me, this is not all that we found. :)

September...So far:

Dad took me, Morgan, and Yuliya to Pizza Hut

The Polings invited everyone to a Labor Day BBQ where there was some dancing and a lot of talking.

I'm in the front.

Talking to Kathryn about video games. I'm acting like I have a PS4 controller in my hand. lol!

Red Solo Cup. ;)

The Johnsons came over for another movie night. But we didn't watch the movie until Daniel arrived, which was two hours later...so in those two hours all of us girls plus Matt went on a walk, and made a spur-of-the-moment Safeway trip to buy brownies and ice cream. When we went back home, we popped three bags of popcorn and made the brownies.  Daniel arrived soon after and we started the movie. (Star Wars: The Phantom Menace).

I don't have any pictures, but dad won free tickets to the Toby Mac/Chris Tomlin concert at work, and he took us girls plus Anna and Callah to the concert/Puyallup Fair this Sunday. We had a lot of fun!
I didn't ride any of the fair rides because:

1. I don't enjoy fair rides...I just don't find them fun. :(
2. Some rides make me sick. :-/
So while everyone else rode the rides, I stood on the sidelines and watched.

On Monday, the Johnsons came over and Matt read the first finished draft of our zombie movie out loud.

Yesterday Sarah invited me to go with her to the horse barn to ride Scarlett. That was a lot of fun, even though my thighs are a little sore from the sitting trot. :)
Yesterday was also our writing "class" at the Polings'. That's something else we've been doing with some of our friends. It's where we bring any writing that we have to the Polings' house, and Kathryn reads it out loud. She gives us grammar corrections and teaches about writing/grammar. :)

Today is the first day of fall! The weather has completely changed here in Washington. It's really cold in the mornings, then warms up a little bit during the day!
I really hope the weather stays this way this week, because my grandma is coming to visit us from GA! In a few hours she'll be on an airplane headed up here! :)
Anyway, again, today is the first day of fall. That means summer 2015 is already over.
I wrote what I did this summer, but I didn't write my thoughts on this summer, so here we go:

This summer has been incredibly, incredibly busy and super fun. It's also been very educational in more ways than one.
I've learned a whole lot about being A.D and how to work better as team. I've learned a lot about our friends and our relationships have grown in a big way. My relationship with all of our friends before the LCC project was completely different from what they are now. I can't wait until we have a new project that will make us all grow even closer together. :)

There were moments during the summer that were a little tough, but I can hardly remember the tough moments because all the fun and good memories overwrite the tough ones. :)

I hope you all had a great summer also, and happy fall! :)

Blog posts

Man, I have spent the last 7 hours working on my next blog post, which will be published on the first day of fall, September 23rd.
I've searched through my mom's phone, my brother's phone, my iPad, and a ton of people's profiles on Facebook for pictures to add in my blog post.
It has been a lot of work, but I can't wait to post it.

I'm going to finish all that I can tonight, then tomorrow start editing it.

It's my a recap of my summer. But I'm not saying anymore about it. :)

September

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/373306256591168285/

It is September already, and the weather has already changed in Washington from shorts and tank top weather to jeans and jacket weather.
It's almost time to for making fall decor, wearing fuzzy socks or warm sweaters, carving pumpkins, drinking hot drinks, turning on the fire place and so on.

We're getting into my favorite part of the year:
Fall, Thanksgiving, and December.

Fall; because of all the decor, the weather, the smell of fall, and Halloween.

Thanksgiving; because I love the rush of making loads of food and spending time with family, and having our friends over for desert. (And dancing!)

December; because of all the Christmas festivities with friends and family, and it seems like everyone in town is nicer during Christmas season. :) Oh, yeah! And because it's the only month in the year  where you can wear a goofy, floppy Santa hat in town. :D

Anyway, right now the weather is AWESOME. Windy, but awesome.
It was a little cold when I went to the barn at 8:45 this morning, but not too bad.

Oh, and speaking of the barn, my friend, Sarah, is boarding her horse 3 minutes away from my house and she is letting me go with her to work with her horse, Scarlett.
Last time I went, I just lunged her, but today we did "join up" and Sarah let me ride Scarlett.
I haven't ridden in a year, so it felt nice getting back in the...er...saddle...except minus the saddle. I rode with the bareback saddle. :)
When I first got on I thought I'd just walk around, but then I wanted to trot, and that was fun!

Here's a video: (In the middle of it I say, "Oh! Bone-y!" That's because I accidentally slid up too far and bounced onto Scarlett's withers.)

Please excuse my equitation. lol! :) ^^

Random fact: Right now I have our cat, Sophie, on my lap and he (yes, Sophie is a boy) is really warm, and he's shedding like crazy. I'm considering whether or not to use the vacuum on him. heh heh! :)

Alrighty, that's all I have for today, but with fall and the holidays coming soon, I will be righting more regularly. :) yay!

Change

One day (when I get money), I'm going to start a big project.

I'm going to redo my room.

See, my sister and I switched rooms for a little over a month, then we switched back...but I didn't put anything back on my walls.  I actually like having nothing on the walls because it makes it more spacious and I feel like I can breathe. But! I think it's time for me to spice things up, and plus I want a big project to work on. :)

So, here is what I'm thinking of:

1. These shelves. I want to make these shelves for one wall and add....
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/373306256590719974/

flowers in a cute container like this:

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/470766967270774851/

2. On the wall, where my bed is, I want it to look like this:  (Birds, pictures, and twinkle lights)

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/373306256591029100/

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/373306256591029100/

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/373306256591029093/

I don't want the dream catcher on my wall though. :)

About the twinkle lights...I can't decide if I want them beside my bed like the picture above or on my ceiling. I'm leaning towards them being on the ceiling so I can get rid of my lamp...which I hate...I have no idea how I even ended up with that lamp!

Maybe like this or differently:

3. On my big wall, I want a big quote on it:
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/467811480020219523/

something like this: \/ \/....

and a Last of Us poster:

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/373306256590457028/

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/373306256590402990/
I can't decide which poster I want more...The first one has the main characters on it, but the second one is, like, my favorite part of the game! :) :)

4. As my light switch, I really want this one:  (So, I might make one) :) :)

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/373306256587955243/

Things I need to buy:

-Pictures for my wall.
-Twinkle lights.
-Frames.
- Last of Us posters.

Things I need to build:

-Triangle shelves.
-Light switch.

Things to do before starting the project:

-Take before pictures of my room.
-Clean room (Wash my walls, sweep my ceiling, dust my furniture, etc).
-Cut, sand down, and stain my wood.

August

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/281052832972919570/

This August has been really busy and super fast.

July 31st my sister, Ashley, and brother in-law, Matt (we call him Big Matt), arrived from Georgia. They came to our film set to see us and our friends film some of our LCC XIII entry.
And thus began the week with them. :)

August 1st-- we celebrated Morgan's birthday (her birthday is the 2nd) with our friends and with Big Matt and Ashley at Deep Lake.

August 2nd- Morgan's birthday. We didn't do much because, like I said, we celebrated it at the lake. She opened her gifts and cards and then went out with Ashley.

August 3rd- We woke up at 8 and everyone got ready to leave. Mom and dad went to go pick up a rental car (8 seat suburban van), then we left at 9 for our 3 and a half hour trip to Astoria, Oregon. Ashley made a playlist of a bunch of songs and we listened to them the whole trip down to Astoria.
When we arrived at Astoria, we walked around the town, watched the handful of sea lions that were on the docks, then we left to drive down to Cannon Beach. We went into a book store, then bought taffy at a candy store.
Later we walked to the beach.
Astoria, Oregon

Ashley's handiwork
Morgan (left) and me in the FREEZING water.
I stayed in longest, jumping the waves (which soaked my shorts) and collecting any shells I could find.

Haystack Rock

Some of the things I found on the beach...well, Big Matt found the crab leg.

These pictures were taken by mom with her iPhone. :)

I videoed our day, which I'm not done editing yet. But I'll post it soon. :)

After staying at the beach, we ate at Tom's Fish and Chips, then drove home (which seemed liked the longest trip ever!) ;) ;P

August 4th- Dad and Big Matt went golfing, and the rest of us did something...I can't remember. :(

August 5th- We left the house at 9am, and drove to Seattle with Ashley's playlist playing. :)
In Seattle we walked around Pike Place Market, ate sub sandwiches at the Three Sister's Cafe (which didn't taste the greatest, sadly). Next, we walked down to the dock by the Seattle Aquarium to just enjoy the scenery. Finally, we went home and chilled out.

Leaving for Seattle

Me and Ashley

On the Dock

That moment when you're taller than one of your sisters, and almost as tall as your other two that are in their 20s. ;) ;P haha!

Two more notes about that day:

1. There was a guy that walked up to a police man who was standing right beside a sign for Pike Place Market. The guy asked the police, "Is this Pike Place Market?"   Hahaha! Wow. ;P :) ;)

2. I have videos of this day, too! :)  But again, I'm not done editing it.

August 6th- Our last day with Ashley and Big Matt.
Me, Morgan, Mom, Yuliya, and Ashley went to the library, and we visited in Starbucks for a little while.
(I got a Hazelnut Iced Latte, just in case you wanted to know!;P)

That night we did a few other things with them, watched the finale of Avatar: The Last Airbender. We started watching it with Big Matt last time they visited in March, but never finished it.

That night we said our goodbyes and all prayed for a safe flight to Georgia.
Then we went to bed. They had to leave the house at 4AM to get to the airport.

August 7th and 8th- my lounge around days. It felt weird doing nothing because all July we were working on LCC stuff, filmed three days in a row (7am to 5pm every day), and then Ashley and Matt visited.

August 9th-
We filmed more of our LCC entry, but it was not like any of the other days of shooting....we had a car on a trailer.  Josiah (one of our friends) was strapped to the front of it with the camera strapped to him while me (Assistant Director), Noah (Director), Faith (P.A), and Max rode in the back of the truck watching the scene. Oh, yeah, we were driving on the road while Josiah was strapped to the front! :) That was interesting to watch/be a part of!

Micah, Me, Noah, and Josiah.

Me (I'm not in the shot, but I'm there), Noah, Max, Faith, Josiah, and with  Lizzy "driving."
We're driving on the road here...and we weren't going very slow.

This was supposed to be the last scene of our LCC entry. However, after we watched what had been edited so far, we decided that we needed more shots. So this weekend we'll be filming more.

August 10th- We filmed a very short, goofy movie with our friends, Callah, Sarah, Anna, and Daniel. It involved me wearing a mustache, which I wanted to do. And I made up all of my lines on the fly. ;)

Doctor Copper (me) and Professor Jones (Matt)

And yesterday.....honestly, I don't really remember yesterday except that I learned about tractors and what a windrower does, and I watched THIS VIDEO on balers. :) :)
I really like that video...I find it really interesting! :D
In case you're wondering why I was learning about all that, ^^ I want to own a ranch/farm one day, so I'm studying about stuff I'll need on a farm. :D

Today: I have just worked on a few projects, like, writing this blog post. Heh heh...yeahhhhhhhhhhh, it's taken me quite a few hours...I've been really distracted making meals, listening to country music, helping my sisters, Facebook, Pinterest, and just dancing around like a weird-y. :D

So, what's going on in my family at the moment, is eating healthier and eating as little sugar as possible.
And I've been drinking more water (with lemon because it's good for you).

Okay, last note before I finish this blog post:

I LOVE THESE BOOTS!!!!!!

THE END.

◄Summertime►

                                             Hot summer nights, mid July
When you and I were forever wild
                             The crazy days, city lights

                                                    -Young and Beautiful

This summer has been a whirlwind of working on two film projects (One which is about to be filmed, and the other is in the process of having a script written), 10 am Starbucks frappes, a movie night with friends (which involved lots of popcorn and cookies), grandparents visiting from Georgia, a trip to Mt. Rainier, having what we think was Pneumonia (But I never actually went to the doctor to get tested), McDonald's dipped cones, dandelion chains (I made the boys wear them ;)), going to sleep to the sound of fireworks (earlier this month, of course), meeting weekly with a group of our friends to help one of our friends with her sci-fi story, swimming at Deep Lake, trying to work on my stories, late night Facebook sticker wars with my sister, Morgan, playing video games (by myself, because I prefer single player games), starting and finishing a tv series, and of taking care of our neighbor's cats, dog, garden, and flowers.

And the rest of this month, we'll practically be living at our friends' house because with each day, shooting day for our movie is coming closer and we've got to practice everyday, go location scouting again, and so on. From morning to dinner everyday, pretty much. :)

At the end of this month, my sister and my brother in-law (who live in Georgia) are coming up here to visit  (they'll be here July 30th, and will be staying a week), and then....

It's August.

I can't believe it's almost August already, but anyway;

Next month I hope we'll be able to do more fun summer things. (I wrote a long list last night that I think is doable) :)

  • Camping with the family (I don't know where yet, but I was hoping up at Mt. Rainier. ;))
  • Hiking some new trails (sorry, Deep Lake... but I can only walk you so many times) ;)
  • Shopping with friends. (Callah, we need new clothes...you know it) ;) ;)
  • Baking with Callah (It's sort of a thing Callah, my friend, and I did when she came to my house in GA)
  • Work more on some photography {I don't know what kind of photography I want to do yet, though}

And that's just a few things on the list! :)

July

This July's likes, wants, things I'm learning, and projects I want to do.

July's music:

Today, I discovered this song and love it!
This is the remix, but I love both the original and remix...maybe the remix a little more because it makes me want to do a hip hop dance. ;)

July's wants:

This video game. It's sooooooo good! One of our friends let us kids come to her house every week and she played it for us!
We loved it, and now we all want a PS4 to own it ourselves.
Which, is July's next want.

Yup. I want one. I wish Skyrim was on PS4, but it's not, only PS3, Xbox 360, and PC (which Matt/I own).

I really want one of these! They're really cool! :) :)

And last but not least, this T-shirt:

 I must own it!!! :D :D

So, that's what I've wanted this July so far, now for THINGS I AM LEARNING. CURRENTLY.

Our grandparents have been here visiting Washington/us this week, so I haven't been working on a lot of projects, except for:

Learning The Last of Us theme song on piano with this video:

Buuuutttt. here's the real theme song which you must hear!! :D

PROJECTS I WANT TO WORK ON THIS MONTH:

That's all I have for today! :)

                                               NOTE:

If you are thinking about looking up what The Last of Us is, warning, it is very violent and language-y so, I DO NOT suggest watching the game trailer or really looking up pictures if you are not into heavy violence and language.
That's all. Goodbye!
